Dr. David Olson, MD


David Olson, MD, worked at the Basin Clinic along with his wife Shirley as a provider for two years in 2010 and 2011. Dr. Olson graduated from the six-year Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University, Chicago, in 1979. He did his internship in family practice at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. After practicing for 10 years in Colorado and Michigan, he obtained an MBA from the University of Colorado and became a medical director for the next 12 years, in California, Texas, and Ohio. He then took a hiatus from medicine, moved to Ouray, and in 2008 returned to family practice in western Colorado. Dr. Olson is board certified in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine.


Ken Jenks, Physician’s Assistant 

Ken is married to Lois Boomer. He and his wife have two grown sons. One lives in Oregon and the other in the State of New York. Ken and Lois met and started their careers in nursing when they worked together as Nurses’ Aides in 1973. Ken worked as an LPN driving an ambulance in Cuba, New Mexico before starting to build his career towards that of a Physician Assistant. To achieve that level, Ken acquired Associate Degrees in Medical Laboratory Technology and in Nursing, a Bachelors Degree in Family Medicine, and then lastly his diploma as a Physician Assistant. Additional certificates include Emergency Medicine, Limited Scope Radiology, ATLS, ACLS, CPR Instructor and PALS. During his education, he was awarded a National Health Service scholarship.

Ken has been a Physician Assistant since 1993 with some urban Emergency Department experience, but mostly rural Family Practice and urgent care in Frontier clinics. He has worked at the Basin Clinic since 2000 and looks forward to continuing to work with the fine staff in that post.




Beth Brown, Nurse Practitioner

Beth Brown FNP attended Walden University, MN where she received her M.S. Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner after receiving her B.S of Nursing at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado previously college in Pueblo CO. and Laramie WY.  Her primary interests include pediatrics and family medicine. She has combined clinical hours at Intensive Care Unit, Montrose Memorial Hospital, Emergency Room Evans Army Hospital Ft. Carson CO, Cardiac Unit and Orthopedic and Spine Units of Saint Mary’s Hospital. Beth enjoys running, hiking, horseback riding and just the great outdoors.

Tierney Lake-1

 Dr. Tierney LakeInternal Medicine MD

Dr. Tierney Lake grew up in Durango, Colorado. She attended Fort Lewis College and completed her medical training and residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Her primary interests include preventative medicine, women’s health, and management of complex illnesses. She is an outdoor enthusiast, spending her free time trail running, backpacking, snowmobiling, and skiing with her husband.
